Embark on a Tour of Dublin Castle

Dublin Castle in Ireland
Dublin Castle served as the residence of the British monarch's Irish representative for seven centuries. It was originally built as a fortress under the orders of King John of England. The castle remained intact until April 1684 when it was damaged in a fire. However, many original medieval and Viking structures are still accessible to visitors today. The castle is now a government complex and tourist attraction.
