FAQs

The cost of a taxi from The Shelbourne Hotel to the airport is between €30 – €40 depending on time of day.

The Shelbourne Hotel offers a Valet parking service only. There is no need to pre-book this service, just pull up at the front door and we will park your car for you.  The charge for this service is €50 per day / 24 hours.

Check in time is 3.00pm. All requests are reviewed on arrival day – we always endeavor to do our utmost to ensure you gain access to your room as soon as possible.  However, this is highly dependent on occupancy level from the previous night and departures on the morning of your arrival – we can only guarantee check-in of 3PM.  Alternatively, you can pre-book the room from the previous night to guarantee early arrival.

Please contact our reception team on the morning of departure and they will be able to advise if a late check out is possible.

The hotel offers the following bathroom amenities available as standard – shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, body lotion. We also have many request items available such as shaving kits, dental kits, combs, sewing kits etc. that can be requested by calling the hotel operator.

While we are not able to guarantee an upgrade prior to arrival we can note requests on guest bookings, and we will accommodate these requests when possible and subject to room availability.

Yes, as from September the 1st 2023 all taxis must take credit cards as payment.

We recommend the Air Coach, you may pick-up the bus at the St Stephen’s Green stop which is located across the street from the main hotel door. The bus departs approx. every 20 minutes, and the cost is €8 one way or €12 return. The journey takes approx. 30/40 minutes.

We recommend the Church of St Teresa in Clarendon Street, which is located just off Grafton Street. Mass is every Sunday at 09.30am, 11.00am & 12.30pm with an evening mass at 6.00pm. The Saturday vigil mass is 6.00pm.

It takes approximately 40 minutes to walk to from The Shelbourne Hotel to the Guinness Brewery. We recommend taking a taxi or if you are taking the ‘Hop on Hop off’ bus, the stop number is 22.

Irish Chauffeurs provide our limousine service, and we can arrange a bespoke private tour. Their car fleet consists of SClass Mercedes and 7Series BMW. There is a minimum hire of 4 hours with no maximum hire time. Daily rates are available on request.

Yes – we can assist with maps and GPS instructions.

Our preferred vendor is Enterprise Car Rental, and they can deliver to / collect from the hotel. They also have a hire location at Dublin Airport.

One of our nearest neighbours is the famous O’Donoghue’s Bar. Music each evening starts around 09.00pm and it is extremely popular with both locals and tourists alike.

There are several options available for shipping. For DHL, FEDEX or UPS, if you have an account, we can ship via them. We also use the services of Mailboxes, who will package and ship if you do not have an account with any of the above. We also use the services of WORLDBOX, and we can offer you prepaid boxes of 5/10/20 kgs.
